DESCRIPTION:
APW - Illinois, "Brilliant" marked mvt, 11J, 18S, 4oz coin silver HC recase with attractive engraving detail including a feeding squirrel to front, sailboat to rear, nickel cuvette, white enamel SS dial, KWKS (a key is included with this lot as pictured), gilt mvt, s#421695. An interesting and fun private label marking that we do not recall having ever seen previously; truly an unusual and BRILLIANT watch to add to an Illinois private label collection!
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, fine cosmetic mvt condition overall, plates with some haze spots and scattered scratches and fine scratches, some overall ultra-fine scratch striations likely from a past wiping, oxide to regulator and hairspring stud; dial with scattered hls, rub mark between 2 and seconds-register; fine hands, minute with ample finish loss, seconds-hand with ample oxide; case shows medium wear, scattered scratches and fine scratches, some dents and numerous dings to band, some mild dings and nicks to front and rear, reduced engraving detail, front lift spring is allowing lid to tilt back approximately one-third toward closed with gravity; tight bow, push shows ample wear; good glass crystal.
